Two of the most effective tools Satan uses to bring people to hell are comfort and riches.

Are you comfortable? Are you rich? (If you own a car, you are richer than most of the world) I am. And therefore, I must watch myself carefully lest Satan drags me to hell.

Looking at a whole crowd of poor and sick people coming to Him, Jesus said:

You who are poor are blessed,

because the kingdom of God is yours.

You who are hungry are blessed,

because you will be filled.

Luke 6:20-21

Why would the poor be blessed or the hungry? Because it’s their conditions that made them come, seeking Jesus. The wealthy and the comfortable weren’t looking for Jesus. Their life was great. They had no need of Jesus. But the hungry and the poor did. Although what they were looking for was food and money initially, they found Jesus the Bread of life.

“But Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner bad things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in anguish.’ Luke 16:25

Of course just because you are poor doesn’t mean you will be in heaven and just because you are rich doesn’t mean you will be in hell. But it is generally true. “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.” (Matt. 19:24)

Therefore, if you are rich and comfortable, know that Jesus is warning you that unless He is your Bread and Treasure, a few years left on earth will be all the good you will ever enjoy.
