Sometimes God smiles down at you and let you know that He is there.

It’s been a while since I had enough margin in my morning to get really into the word of God. But on Monday morning, I was able to. I spent an extra time meditating and reflecting on the word of God. And this is what He said to me, “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” 1 Cor. 15:58

I WAS questioning whether my labor was in vain. I had been second-guessing what I believed to be God’s calling on my life. And to hear from God those words was precious. But if you know me, I want confirmation that it truly was from God. How do I know that I didn’t just happen to come across those words on coincidence?

It was such a beautiful morning outside, I went outside to walk and pray after reading those words. Then, on the sidewalk in my neighborhood, I noticed some writings in chalk! What did they say? “Keep going.” “Stay calm.” “Be who you are.” Apparently, some children had written these words on the sidewalk with chalk. But to me, they were words from God, especially after my time in the word.

There are lots of times when God is silent. I desperately want to hear from Him, and He seems to be silent. But there are times when He does speak. And how sweet it is when He does! But I believe His speaking only comes to those who strive and strive to hear Him.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you.” Luke 11:9
