Psalm 89:1-I will sing of the steadfast love of the Lord, forever;
with my mouth I will make known your faithfulness to all generations.
One of the ways you can tell you’re growing to love like God love’s us, is when you’re able to oversee people’s flaws, and do what is best for them or the relationship.  At that point in our love, we are separating the circumstances and issues surrounding them, from them…
For example, children can be full of foolish ways (as we still are) but their is something infectious about them, that can provoke your love and care for them anyway.  That you see through their sins and situations, to loving them for who they are, flaws and all!  That is the gospel, God loving us through Jesus, and His unmerited grace and mercy…
But have you as a professing Christian, been able to separate your circumstances from how you see God?  Because if we measure God by our circumstances, true worship “in Spirit and Truth” cannot exist (John 4:24).  God must be better than our circumstances, like the Psalmist praises Him for, and in a totally separate category! Otherwise the character of God is at stake, and we only “praise and worship” God when things are “wonderful”! (Which is why reading the Word is so important!)
In other words, if we only “worship” God by how good our life is going, we are using God, and will shift our “praise and worship”, to whatever or whoever can give us what we desire.  That kind of “unfaithfulness” is something we would despise in our relationships.  Yet that is our heart, if we can’t separate worship and praise for God, despite how good or bad things are going…
As difficult and impossible as it may sound (and it is in our strength!), it is very much possible by God’s grace to worship Him unconditionally (Mark 10:27).
