Exodus 14:14The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.”
There are definitely times in life where you can feel exasperated because you feel like things cannot be solved unless you get involved.  It seems that the people and things we care about must involve “our hand” for any good to come from it.  But how much of that is our own “god complex” to control and micro-manage everything?
Arguably the greatest miracle in biblical history is Moses’ parting of the Red Sea.  The Israelites were pursued by the Egyptians and found their lives completely out of their control and left possibly for dead.  Yet it was this predicament that forced them to trust the Lord and allow Him to fight this battle, they could not meddle with what needed God’s power…
Standing idle and doing nothing is the ultimate taboo in today’s society.  Even if we are not genuinely busy, we make ourselves busy, having to be involved with something.  Yet how much has the “spirit of the age” caused us to think we need to be involved with only what God can do?
There is a major difference between being idle and not doing what you know to do, and being idle because it is not up to you to meddle in the situation.  It takes more strength and courage to be idle, and trust God in situations He wants to fight for us in than, to meddle.  Pray for God to give you the strength not to meddle, but work out His sovereign will, for His glory and your peace.
In His Love, Ld
