John 8:15-17-You judge according to the flesh; I judge no one. 16 Yet even if I do judge, my judgment is true, for it is not I alone who judge, but I and the Father who sent me.

If you ask non-Christians and Christians what bothers you most about Christians the answer I’ve heard the most is “that they are too judgmental”. I would agree partly because it is rare that you find a Christian who sees or knows something about someone, and they without telling anyone, pray for them. Mainly because you want God to mercifully deal with them and their sins, like He does yours…

What is missing obviously out of such a heart that rushes to judgment and condemnation is the love of God. This is the same chapter where Jesus just pardoned a woman being dragged out to be condemned for her adultery. Yet Jesus doesn’t condemn her with a determination to exact judgment, but turns the issue of sin upon them and how he has dealt with their sin…

The beauty of falling into the hands of God rather than the hands of people is that God knows the intentions of your heart when you sin or do a good deed. You can sin with intentions of the heart that desire to do right by God but struggle in the weakness of your flesh. You can also sin with a wicked heart doing good deeds to promote yourself over the glory of God! Most church people would sit in praise of the preacher, preaching the Word faithfully not knowing that his heart is full vain glory and selfish ambition!

Jesus doesn’t allow us to make judgments that have no heart of prayer and revelation that comes from Him. Such a heart isn’t moved to love a person and rebuke them in the love of Christ. So when they see anything that they consider questionable they judge them in the flesh! But mercy always yields to the One who knows completely the issues of a person’s heart, pray for them rather than judge them in the flesh.
