God curses many with prosperity. God blesses many with poverty.

That is the truth to be learned from the Book of Job. But religion teaches us exactly the opposite. It says that “If you do good, God will bless you. If you do bad, God will curse you.” Translation, “If bad things are happening to you, it’s because you’ve been bad. So, turn your life around and start doing good and God will be good to you.” Many American Christians have bought into that lie!

And today, religion manifests itself through “prosperity” teachers (And there are many of these in America today). And Job’s friends, who were really his enemies, were these prosperity teachers! Job 22:27-28, “You will make your prayer to him, and he will hear you… you will decide on a matter, and it will be established for you, and light will shine on your ways.” Can you guess who said that? Job’s religion friends who were accusing him that the reason why Job is suffering is because he’s been bad. These friends, God would’ve killed except Job prayed for them later for their lives to be spared!

Listen to this awesome quote by C.S. Lewis: “Now God, who has made us, knows what we are and that our happiness lies in Him. Yet we will not seek it in Him as long as he leaves us any other resort where it can even plausibly be looked for. While what we call ‘our own life’ remains agreeable we will not surrender it to Him. What then can God do in our interests but make ‘our own life’ less agreeable to us, and take away the plausible source of false happiness?”

Translation: God will let bad things happen to us and shut every door to happiness, so that we have no choice but to turn to Him.

The Prosperity preachers say, “Turn to God so that you will get what you want.”
The Gospel preachers say, “Turn to God so that you will get God.”

Is God shutting every door to happiness around you? He’s pursuing you. He wants you to want Him. Stop looking for happiness in anything else.
