What if you could not die?

Yes, what if you were invincible? Kind of like Superman, except you have no weakness. No fall, no piercing, no aging, no lack of food, no disease can kill you. You are absolutely invincible. How would you then live your life? What of your worries? What of your concerns? What of your fears?

That was Jesus’ body after He has resurrected. He had a perishable body like everyone else, but after the resurrection, an imperishable body. He COULD NOT die!

“For we know that since Chris was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him.” Rom. 6:9

He became invincible after His resurrection. He could walk right through a nuclear fission and not a single hair would be singed.

Another way of saying this is, He became more real. He became more solid than the physical reality itself. That’s how He was able to go right through the door where the disciples were praying. We assume that he was in a ghost-like state and less real than physical reality. But truth is that He became so real that in comparison, this physical reality was ghost like. So, He went through walls just like you and I would go through a flume of smoke.

That’s the resurrected body we will have. An invincible, imperishable body. Nothing could harm us. We will not even have to eat! So, then, what of our worries? What of our anxieties? What of our fears?

But the only way for that to happen is for this current body to be given for an exchange, and of course our faith to be in the one who lived and died for us to earn us that imperishable body.

“The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable.” 1 Cor. 15:42
