Adam was our champion. He was the best of us. He could do everything better than we could. And he represented us. But he lost miserably. He was no match for Satan.

I used to resent Adam for putting us in this sinful condition we are in. “Only if he had not sinned, we wouldn’t be in the mess we are in! And it’s not fair that we get punished for his sins. After all, it’s not me per se that sinned. I should’ve been given the same chance that Adam did…”

But it dawned on me that Adam was our champion. He was the best we’ve ever had. I would be no match for him. We would’ve wanted him to represent us if we had known him. And he did. But he was no match for Satan. So, had I been there at the Garden, I would’ve failed even more miserably (Perhaps not only eat the fruit, but plant the seed from fruit and gave the fruit to everyone else???)

Then, God sent His Champion. He was the best God had. He resoundingly defeated Satan. Satan was no match for Him. And He awards the victory onto us as if we had won it! (Rom 5:17)

Jesus is our Champion. He represents us. He fights for us. We are not the champions. He is. We merely reap the benefit He earned.

Learn to lean on this Champion. Learn to stay behind Him. Learn to be under His shadow. Learn to boast of this Champion! He is the greatest Champion there is. And He represents us!!!
