One of the ways we know we are making the gospel saturate our hearts and minds is in experiencing freedom. Are you free? Are you truly free? Let’s test…

– Are you free from what others think of you?
– Are you free from anxiety about the future?
– Are you free from materialism and always wanting more and better?
– Are you free from from addictions? (food, alcohol, relationships, Facebook, etc)
– Are you free from self-importance and insisting your way?

When I look around me, I see slaves everywhere. I see people who feel that they must be a certain way or must have certain things or must achieve certain goals in order to be somebody. I see people constantly trying to prove themselves just so that they will be acceptable in their own eyes.

Jesus came to set us free! Have this be true of you and you will experience freedom instantly: Jesus is enough!

“I have heard their groaning and have come down to set them free.” Acts 7:34

This is referring to God sending Moses to set the Israelites free from the enslavement to Egypt. Moses was the Jesus prototype. Jesus ultimately sets us free from the enslavement to sin and all it produces.

How do we witness to friends who seemingly have everything? Remind them of how enslaved they are. And then let them know Jesus can free them. Of course, we would have to know this ourselves and feel it in our hearts before we can tell them…
