Good morning everyone,

Hebrews 11:9-10 By faith he went to live in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God.

There are times that life can seem so mundane and routine that you wonder if things will ever change (Washington winters!). But there are times when life becomes very exciting because of change is on the horizon! Whether that is a change in jobs, relationship status, children, or just personal growth, change is exciting!

Yet some of the saddest experiences I have had personally and observed in others, is living a life set up to never allow change. Life will not change for the best if we live without hope and expectation that things can change. Whether you are holding a grudge or decided to "take control" to live comfortable for "a season", the Lord wants our hearts open and flexible to move with Him whenever and wherever.

It was significant that as Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob moved throughout their journey living in tents. The tent signified that they wouldn’t be staying in a place forever, so they couldn’t get too sentimental at a place they liked along the way. Their goal was to live by faith according to where God wanted them to go, expecting for life to change and for them to change accordingly. Are there things in your life that keep you paralyzed from expecting change or wanting to change? Let’s pray that Christ free our hearts that we can live the kind of sacrificial life that He and others lived, with our hope not in temporary places but an eternal God.

In His Love, Ld
