Good morning everyone,

2 Corinthians 3:11-12-For if what was being brought to an end came with glory, much more will what is permanent have glory. Since we have such a hope, we are very bold,

If you were to define your personality would "bold" come to mind? Usually we associate boldness with "loud" or "theatric", overbearing, etc. But that definition of boldness is very narrow. Though there maybe genuinely "boisterous" people who stand out, more times than not it serves as a disguise to how insecure we are.

Generally even Christians "cave" to this narrow idea of boldness, as a defense many of times, not to be confident in witnessing the gospel to people, with the excuse that it is not their personality to be so bold. Yet the apostle Paul did not have what we in the U.S. would define as a "bold personality" that many of us think we need to be a strong witness for Christ (2 Corinthians 10 vs. 10).

I’ve realized in "walking" with Jesus that boldness doesn’t come from some conjured up confidence in achievements, beauty, talent, etc. But boldness comes from realizing more and more the permanence of God’s glory in our lives from Jesus’ sacrifice. That true boldness is directly tied to understanding that the glory of Jesus Christ will never fade, so we are confident in that, not ourselves. So as your walk fades with Christ your boldness/confidence fades in living and speaking as a witness, because we are trying to be confident in our own conjured up "faded glory".

In His Love, Ld
