Good morning everyone,

2 Timothy 2:4-6: No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him. An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. It is the hard-working farmer who ought to have the first share of the crops.

One of the most refreshing moments probably as a parent, mentor, teacher, pastor, and friend is to see those you love, desire and apply what it takes to reach their goal and utilize their potential.

However all of that "encouraging language" could be used to inspire people without having them depend on God at all. The result however will be that the people we love cannot visualize and reach the goal God has set for them, nor realize His love and the eternal impact they could have in Christ by walking in His calling for them.

To strive for a goal biblically is to do so in line with the "rules". Which means that we cannot reach any place God has prepared for us by "any means necessary". No it must be His way, lawfully, which means to fulfill the commands of God by walking in love with Him and others, while we work hard. Only then will we display the distinction between walking in God’s calling and not our own "calling".

In His Love, Ld
