What would you say was the greatest moment in history? Many nations celebrate their independence day as the greatest moment. But nations come and go. Who knows how many years U.S. will last?

All of history comes to one single focal point. Not just human history, but the universe’s history came to its climax. It was an execution of a former carpenter. Who never set foot outside of a small country called Israel by the way…

The crucifixion. It was where the wickedness of humans met the holiness of God. It was where the selfishness of humans met the love of God. This was the greatest moment but was also the worst moment. It showed the greatness of God but also showed the utter helplessness of men.

“For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles.” 1 Cor. 1:22

Have reflected deeply about the cross lately? It was not the greatest moment in history because of the magnitude of the event but because of its over-reaching effect even now to everything we do and think.

Feeling bad about yourself? The cross is how much you are loved. You are given the worth of the Son of God!
Feeling proud about yourself? The cross was the only hope you had. You were going to be in hell except for the cross.
Feeling confident about yourself? It had to be someone else that had to die to save you.
Feeling hopeless about the future? Christ has died to save this world. Trust me, it will be good and nice in the future!

One nation. One person. One moment.

Israel. Jesus. The cross.

That’s what life is all about.
