2 Thessalonians 3:1-3-Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honored, as happened among you, 2 and that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men. For not all have faith.
One of the hallmarks of seeking to live by faith, is to trust God for Him to open “doors” and hearts of the people we have to deal with.  That we don’t have to “scheme and hustle” our way through life, seeking to be an opportunist at every corner.  What makes us keen in recognizing “opportunistic behaviors” is that we either operate that way or once did efficiently…
Without acknowledging God in all our ways to live by faith, being an opportunist is standard operation (Proverbs 3:6).  That my whole agenda is to find an opportunity for me to capitalize off of people, and what they can do for me.  Such a mentality is never serving in the sacrificial way God calls us to.  Because I am not seeking reward from God in my service, but what I can get from people, which is drastically limited with no faith needed!
Being satisfied with God is the hardest fight we will have as Christians.  Because the lust to be greedy for what we personally want to be satisfied with, abides with our sinful nature (Romans 7:19-20.  Though we know God can be enough, it’s wanting Him to be that, that reveals the evil unbelief that still lingers (Hebrews 3:12, James 4:1-5).
That is why the fight for real faith, is to honor the word of the Lord by striving to live by  it.  First being filled with the Word so we can honor it, keeps us from operating by manipulation (Hebrews 5:13-14).  In doing so we allow God to move accordingly and show ourselves sincere.  Because it is amazing to think that people would see Christ in us, if we operate under the same standards as unbelievers, who “hustle” their way through life…
In His Love, Ld
