Today is Halloween. Most people associate Halloween with monsters, demons, and death. But Halloween, or Allhallow-even is also the All Saint’s Day’s eve, which honors all the saints. But at least in America, we have decided to celebrate the darkness rather than the light and given it an American capitalism twist and made it into another marketing ploy.

From the outside, it looks like the dark side won. Satan and demons seem more exciting than God and angels. Being bad seems more popular than being good. It looks like good has lost out to evil yet once again…

But that’s the way it looked on that Saturday after Jesus’ death. God’s Son died a horrific death. Satan has knocked Him out. All seemed lost. But the next day was Sunday – the resurrection Sunday. Jesus came back from the dead! And He delivered a death-blow to Satan that he will never recover from. What seemed like Christ’s greatest defeat turned out to be His greatest victory. And that’s way God works in just about every case. The lowest point almost always precedes the highest point. The darkest hour is just before the dawn…

Things look pretty bleak in America spiritually. But God may yet turn it around drastically and claim victory. If He doesn’t do it nationally, He will certain do it for the individuals who do not give up.

“Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” (Gal. 6:9)

Keep fighting to treasure Christ above all.

Keep fighting to rest in Him while you work.

Keep hoping in God and never give up!
