James 1:13-Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one.
It’s interesting how situations can bring out certain reactions in us, that can cause us to think, “if this wasn’t like this, than I wouldn’t react in such a way”.  Yet we may not be aware that we get that mentality from a “desire to be like god”, in control, with everything favoring our convenience.  Yet if everything went accordingly, why would we need to have faith and mature?
Going through certain trials can reveal weaknesses in our character, that naturally provokes us to wish for the trial to go away, or to have never happened.  Because now we feel like we are a victim to these weaknesses that have “come up”, all because of the trial we are going through…
But God has an agenda for our trials, and that is for us to mature, “that we be complete and lack nothing” (James 1:2-4).  All of us rather mature in gentler ways, but trials are what reveal the “impurities” in our character, and the unbelief we struggle with, in trusting God while in trials.  But one thing God wants to make sure we don’t do while in trials, is blame Him for the sin (unbelief) we resort to, while enduring trials…
Accepting responsibility is a great sign of maturity.  Because the temptation to blame God for our circumstances, because we keep sinning from it, makes us constant “victims” to our own desire to sin.  But God wants us to trust Him by faith, and accept responsibility when we sin in our trials, and repent. That we can mature and get stronger in faith, so we can see that we are victorious in Christ through trials!
