When we see no way, God makes a way.

Has your life gotten you in a place where you see no way out? You feel stuck and you can’t see any way out of it? And you wonder why God puts you in that place? Perhaps, this, after striving to follow God and be faithful to Him? What is God trying to do? Does He even care?

In the Book of Ruth, things looked bleak for Naomi and her two daughters-in-law when each of their husband died. Naomi was in a foreign country and felt cursed by God to lose her husband and two sons. She was stuck. The only thing for Naomi to do was to go back to her country. But she didn’t know what to do with her daughters-in-law. So, she suggests that they leave her and live their own lives. One of them does – Orpah. But Ruth, the other daughter-in-law, doesn’t! She wants to stick with Naomi and go with her to her country, which would be a foreign country to Ruth. And more specifically, she (Ruth) wants to make Naomi’s God (Jehovah), her God.

But making this courageous move will make her stuck, too! She would be in a foreign country with no  prospect of having a husband and having children, in a society where a woman’s worth was wrapped up in producing children. Naomi, her mother-in-law, sees this and tries to persuade Ruth to leave her and be on her own. But Ruth doesn’t budge.

Unbeknownst to them and the readers, God has something up His sleeves. You know the rest of the story. (If not, read the book of Ruth) God provides for Ruth and Naomi when there seemed to be no way. And not only that, Ruth became the great-grand-mother of King David! And Naomi got to hold her grandson when she thought she would never have the chance. God really made a way!

When you feel stuck, when you see no way out, choose God’s way. Don’t compromise. God is trying to bless you! Don’t miss out on it!
