2 Thessalonians 3:1-Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honored, as happened among you,

One of the things you realize as a Christian who commits their lives to serving Jesus Christ, is that there is a difference between hearing and reading the Word, versus honoring the Word in your life.

It is no wonder that Satan through our unbelieving society, and some professing believers, attacks the integrity of the Bible. They see it as a book that is outdated and has no life in it. In reality, it is the blinding power of Satan that causes people not to benefit from what they hear and read in God’s Word, hindering their potential faith.

The apostle Paul is trying to encourage this group of believers to encourage others to benefit in their faith as they have, by honoring the Word. To honor in this sense means to glorify. To glorify God’s Word in this day and age comes with hefty ridicule, even from those within the church!

But how else do we really affirm our faith in God? How do we really come to grow in our faith if we do not honor what God deems to be the Word of life? Fight all discouragement from the world to tell you anything different than the apostle Paul is encouraging us to do. Trust God at His Word, and honor Christ over what our failing philosophies of life tempt us to do!
In His Love, Ld
