It’s Monday morning and farthest removed from the weekend. But have you realized what makes you look forward to the weekend is the weekdays of work?

That’s right. What makes us look forward to the rest IS the work. If we didn’t work, then the weekend would be meaningless. If there were no winters, summers would not be enjoyable. (For they will be all the same)

And one more thing about your work. You are assigned to it by God. 1 Cor. 7:17, “Only let each person lead the life that the Lord has assigned to him, and to which God has called him.”

How do you honestly view your job? Do you view it as something that pays your bills and no more? If so, I want to spare you of your misery. (For you must be miserable if half of your waking hours is devoted to something you hate!) You job IS more than something that pays your bills and puts food on the table. God has assigned you to it for a purpose. Think of it as your ministry. That job affords you to fulfill the purpose God has for you in the work itself and to those around you. Do it faithfully as unto the Lord no matter how mundane it is!

Also, learn to be content at your current job. Although it’s not wrong to change your vocation, realize that no matter what job you take, after a few years, you will feel about it the same way you did about your last job….

Work with a purpose.
