The enemy of the true faith is religion. And the essence of religion is caring more about what people think than what God thinks.

“They do all their deeds to be seen by others.” Matt. 23:5 – Jesus said this before He cursed out the pharisees!

So, then consider the religious of the day:
– Many churches that are afraid to tell the truth (hell, sin, denial of self are never mentioned)
– Most politicians who go with what people want rather than their convictions.
– Many parents who give in to the wishes of their children.
– Teenagers and young adults who follow the popular trend to fit in.
– Many who keep their faith private.

Can you see that if we are displaying true faith in God and cared more about what God thinks than what people think, we’d make many people upset? They’d stop coming to our churches. They’d stop talking to us. They’d make fun of us. We’d be seen as those who are out of touch with reality.

But so often, under the guise of making peace, we go along…. I’m so afraid that Jesus is going to curse us out! (See Matt 23)

Do you, in your heart of hearts, want God to make much of you or much of Himself? Are your religious or are you of true faith? Are you a pretender or are you real?

Please know Christ. Fall in love with Him. Once you do, you won’t care what the world thinks. I lament over so many religious people who are not saved…
