Good morning everyone,

Numbers 11:35-Now the man Moses was very meek, more than all people who were on the face of the earth

One of the things I used to think about humility is that the way a person quietly conducted themselves before you was a good measurement of if. Though that can be partially true. Yet I’ve really begun to appreciate people I know to be completely themselves still display a sense of humility. That they aren’t completely reserved, so you can actually picture them being the same way that they are in their own home!

I believe a person like that has actually become comfortable in who they are and have developed great patience so they don’t have to pretend like they’re humble. That kind of development comes from a long time of dealing with your own impatience, and seeing your flaws in light of God having to deal with you everyday! If we consider Jesus at the times we are ready to "lose it", we would have to wonder at the injustice we perform constantly in our lack of patience towards other people.

The Bible says that Moses was the humblest man on the earth at that time. Consider how patient he had to be with the Israelites. Yet the only way he could cope with them was because he knew God was very patient with him and them. We cannot escape being "incovenienced", though I personally hate it. Yet God is teaching me to be genuinely humble through all of inconveniences. To get irate over being inconvenienced, is to really think you’re above waiting. This kind of impatience and pride plays out in relationships believing that you shouldn’t have to be as patient as you’ve had to be with a spouse, child, or friend. Yet if we saw our lives through the lenses of humility and patience that Jesus has with us, then we would grow to be humble and allow the fruit of patience to deal with everything. Remember we can only be genuinely humble when we’re merciful, and we become merciful when we are experiencing mercy everyday from our Lord.

In His Love, Ld
