Good Monday to you all!

My body is so sore from softball yesterday! I hate getting old! Being agile and fast on the field is a distant memory. I want a new body! Thanks be to God, I will get a new body one day!

What do you hate?

As a Christian, I’ve always been taught to love and not to hate. For example, we are to love God, love people, love God’s laws, etc.

But reading the Bible, I’m taught to hate as well. There are things that God hates. And I am to hate those things that God hates.

Rev. 2:6, “but you have this in your favor: You hate the practices of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.”

God compliments the church in Ephesus for hating something!

This is consistent throughout the Scriptures. We are reminded to hate certain things that God hates – namely anything that will draw our affection away from God and His kingdom.

Do we hate the things that God hates? I know we may not like certain sins and practices, but are our emotions against such things so strong that we would use the word “hate?”

God does not only want us to feel neutral or mild dislike, but a strong hatred for things that will draw us away from God.

What do you hate enough to move you to act toward eradicating it?

Divorce? Injustice? Certain politics?

Let us love God with all our heart, soul, and mind and let us HATE the things God hates!
