Good afternoon everyone,
Psalm 62:5- For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.
Matthew 27:12- And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.
I used to wonder why people didn’t say something back sometimes in confrontations. Though I believe confrontation can be healthy, it comes from people just wanting to be heard. Everyone wants to be heard in some capacity, believing that what they have to contribute is worth speaking about can be very healthy and needed. But how well "positioned" are your contributions? And what are they contributing to, more chaos or a solution?
I believe more so now than ever, that a genuine prayer life keeps you from saying at least half the things you might contribute to that lead to chaos in the soul. When daily sincerity in Christ are not leading our life, the opinions of people do. So we confront things that many times can be ignored or at least compromised. But we don’t "wait in silence" because we believe if they don’t see it our way we feel defeated or lack worth. But who can really give you secure worth but God?
Hope in God is beyond crisis situations, but moment to moment really. Especially in potentially chaotic moments of the soul, where the situation calls you to care more about your peace with God, than trying to manipulate someone to agree with what you feel or think. Real security will always come from being at peace with God through Christ. Live in the reality that Christ died for you, that you have His mind and rest your soul in silence, and let God’s will be done even through people who disagree.
In His Love, Ld
