Most people don’t think they are going to hell. But, most people ARE going to hell. That means many people will be in hell who didn’t think they would be there.

How do you know you are not going there? Because you are a Christian? Because you received Jesus as your Savior and Lord?

Fair enough. Now, let’s check to see if you really did. Turning TO God means also we are turning FROM other gods. Saying “yes” to God means saying “no” to other gods. Have you said “no” to other gods?

What are our gods? (America’s)
– Autonomy: “The Bible is just a guide. I, ultimately, decide what is right or wrong for me.” (Of course, we wouldn’t say this out loud…)
– Freedom: “Commitment, duty, responsibility are all dirty and binding words.”
– Pursuit of happiness: “God wants me to be happy. Therefore, I’m leaving this family.”
– Status: “How I feel about myself is directly proportional to what I’ve achieved and how much I earn.”
– Children: “My parents neglected me when I was growing up. I’m going to make sure I live for my children!”

Have you turned from your god? Most “Christians” haven’t. That’s why they are going to hell and don’t know it!!!

“What wrong have we done? What sin have we committed against the Lord our God?” Jer. 16:10 This is what the Israelites retorted back to God when He accused them of following other gods. They did not know that they were following other gods and were sinning greatly before God.

In a sense, we have it worse than the murderers and rapists. At least they know they are going to hell. But we don’t. At least they won’t be surprised to find themselves in hell. But, oh my, the shock that some people will experience when they will find themselves in hell!

Don’t go there. Please. Turn from your gods. Turn to God. (Turning TO God means turning FROM our self-will and letting Him dictate and be the center of our world.)
