God’s calling is never for our blessing directly. The blessing comes only as a by-product of that calling. And the calling itself will bring much “trouble” to our lives.
When God called Moses, it wasn’t about Moses or his future. It was about the Israelites. God wanted to deliver the Israelites from the hands of the Egyptians. Ex 3:10, “Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.” This calling brought much trouble to Moses. First, he had to face Pharoah. Second, he would have to lead the Israelites. Third, it would mean he would have to move from his place of comfort.
But Moses was blessed tremendously as a result of this calling. Who does not recognize the name of Moses even today? He is a venerated figure to the Jews to this day.
You are called to be a child of God. “God is faithful, who has called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” 1 Cor. 1:9Expect trouble in your life because of your calling. But in the end, you will know how blessed that calling truly was…!
