Good morning everyone,

1 Kings 19:5-7 -And he lay down and slept under a broom tree. And behold, an angel touched him and said to him, "Arise and eat." And he looked, and behold, there was at his head a cake baked on hot stones and a jar of water. And he ate and drank and lay down again. And the angel of the Lord came again a second time and touched him and said, "Arise and eat, for the journey is too great for you."

There are times in life where you know you have moved on from a past hurt in life, but allow memory to be a torment rather than an event that you have survived. Torment is the threat from the enemy, with the intent to define us by an event. But faith pursues purpose with the intent to look back on hurtful times, and realize that you can be an overcomer through Christ.

Elijah had a similar issue, yes Elijah the great prophet! The threat from Jezebel sent him running to hide in a cave and conclude that he should die! Yet the Lord wasn’t done with him, reminding him that he had a great purpose to fulfill. But Elijah wanted to rehearse his pain and stay in the cave, while eating the food God gave him to pursue his purpose in life.

The question is not whether Christians are getting food from God. The question is whether we are using it to pursue God’s purpose, or using it for ourselves to feel better in "a cave" rehearsing the pain of our past? I believe the only difference between living in joy and peace or discontentment and failure is the continual pursuit of purpose from God. All of us have had problemsbefore and issues to overcome, but not all of us dwell in the pain of them.

In His Love, Ld
