2 Peter 1:1– Simeon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained a faith of equal standing with oursby the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:
As a Christian we go through doubts in our lives, and sometimes question things that God desires us to trust Him in.  But that made me consider, how we can be confident at all in God, if the Bible is not what we study to live upon, to stay faithful and committed to Jesus?
After reading statements like the apostle Peter makes to these believers about what they have obtained, “having a faith of equal standing”.  Peter’s devotion to Christ, leaves me no room to makes excuses for my lack of faith, throughout this life and to the end.  That’s if I believe the Word to be Life…(John 6:63)
2 Peter 1:19-And we have something more surethe prophetic word, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place,

Peter walked with Jesus and heard from the Father from heaven (vs.18), yet still considered the Word to be what we trust and live upon.  If we excuse ourselves not to be as devoted to God, because we are not an apostle, pastor, teacher, etc., then we disregard the gospel, that we have “faith of equal standing with ours by the righteousness of God and Savior Jesus Christ”.
The challenge for all of us who profess Christianity, is whether or not we are adding to our faith (2 Peter 1:5-11).  Because if we are not, than the reason we might be lagging in sacrifice and passion to love Christ, like Peter, is that we haven’t invested much in knowing Him, through the “more sure” prophetic word.
In His Love, Ld
