Numbers 14:24-25But my servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit and has followed me fully, I will bring into the land into which he went, and his descendants shall possess it. Now, since the Amalekites and the Canaanites dwell in the valleys, turn tomorrow and set out for the wilderness by the way to the Red Sea.”
We probably have all had times where we did not want to embrace the challenge that God was calling us to confront.  But when we look back on what we foresaw as something too difficult or demanding, we realized once we committed to trust God, He made a way for us to overcome such obstacles…
Faith and trust was the premise the Israelites were to live by.  But many times they were so worried about the obstacles they were about to face, that they never developed any faith in the God who could overcome them!  God would allow them to see the promise land and what the obstacles were, but only for them to embrace the God who is giving them the land, not the obstacles…
Many times God allows us to see the obstacles that we acknowledge to be overwhelming and too much to bear.  But it isn’t until we decide to obey Him, that He brings about provisions that help “maneuver” us around such challenges.  The Lord really just wants us to trust Him, and focus on what He is calling us to do, and He will take care of the rest!
It was the spirit of faith that “opened up” this new avenue to avoid the strong opposition who “dwell in the valleys”.  The Lord at this time, “maneuvered” the Israelites around their enemies, because He knew what they could handle at that time in their faith. But it is only when they stepped out in faith, that they were able to see the many provisions God would make along the way…
