The book of Ruth is an amazing story. It is an amazing story of how God comes through for those who will choose Him and take risks relying on His favor.

It starts with a tragedy. Ruth’s husband dies without giving her any children. But her life is dramatically turned around and God blesses her beyond what she can imagine! But how? What did she do? Mainly three things…

1) She chose the difficult life to be with her mother-in-law and more importantly, chose her God as her God. This meant leaving her country, her own families, her heritage and culture, and adapting to a new country.

2) She worked hard for a living – working to gather grain at a field all day long for herself and her mother-in-law.

3) She took a risk, sensing God’s favor, to become Boaz’s wife. She risked being humiliated and scorned, but it was a risk that would bring much blessings to all who were involved.

So, what can we learn from Ruth? 1) Do the hard thing of choosing God (However that fits your context). 2) Work hard in the meantime. 3) When an opportunity comes, take a risk, especially if it has the potential to bring much good to many people.

What did Ruth end up getting? She becomes the great grandmother of King David, but more importantly, be included in the lineage of the Son of God, Jesus Christ!

Who knows? Perhaps you will become blessed beyond your wildest imagination! Remember to: 1) Choose God, 2) Work hard, 3) Take risks.
