Sorry, this is so late in the day. I had a full day with my girls…

When tough times hit, Christians are often advised to look to the future – our true home in heaven. And that is true. We should do that.

But it is also important to look to the past. Especially when we are thirsty and dry, looking back at the past could help.

Ps. 63:2, “I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your loves is better than life, my lips will glorify you.”

When David felt spiritually and emotionally dry, he remembered his past experiences of the Lord and praised Him again for them.

Do you have such experiences you can go back to? Are there experiences in your life God showed Himself especially clearly through?

Go revisit those experiences and praise God for them. Soon, your heart will be filled with joy and praise again.

And continue to build those experiences in the present. We may need them in the future.
