Those who realize they are given much, will give much.

I emphasize “realize” because not everyone who has much is generous. As a matter of fact, percentage wise, the richest are the least generous. Mississippi state has the lowest GDP of any state in the U.S. Can you guess which state has the highest giving percentage-wise? That’s right. Also the Mississippi state!

Those who have much will NOT give much. Those who REALIZE they are given much, will give much.

As Christians, we are given everything. We deserved death and hell. We deserved eternity of torment and misery. Do you realize it? Do you feel it in the depth of your soul? The degree to which you realize this is the degree to which you will be thankful and also will be giving. When you and I realize that everything we are given is only by the grace of God, we will become generous ourselves.

It’s only when we think we have earned it ourselves, we will horde and be greedy.

“Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven—for she loved much. But he who is forgiven little, loves little.” Luke 7:47

Most of us living in the U.S. are given so ridiculously much. A teacher in Indonesia makes $200 a month. And she lives in a straw-house smaller than my garage. And she supports her parents, and grandparents who all live in the same house! Yet, she is happy that she is a teacher and can support her family…

Let’s realize how much we have been given. If not, would you ask God to let you see it? Your happiness depends on it!
