So often, we are what other people think we are. We let our identity and worth to be determined by what others say about us. Consider how much of your self-esteem depends on how other people perceive you. But be warned: You satisfy the crowd, you kill Jesus!

“So Pilate, wishing to satisfy the crowd, released for them Barabbas, and having scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.” Mark 15:15
Pilate didn’t want Jesus to be crucified. His wife told him about a dream she had and warned him not to harm Jesus. He himself was of the conviction that Jesus has done nothing that deserves death. But then, why did he allow Jesus to be crucified? Because that is what the crowd wanted. He listened to the popular voice of the people rather than God. And he ended up killing the Son of God!
One of the greatest enemies to our faith is the crowd – “What would people think of me?” It is our desire to please the crowd and be accepted by them. I am not immune to this. I am ashamed to admit that often I’ve made decisions based upon, “What would people think of me?” It’s not a conscious thing. It’s a default thing. Unless I’m specifically thinking in a different way, I’m defaulting to making decisions based upon what people would think of me. And that’s because I naturally want to be liked by people. But the truth is…
It doesn’t matter what other people think about you.

It doesn’t matter what you think about yourself.
It doesn’t even matter what you think about God.

It only matters what God thinks of you.
And what does God think of you if you are His child?
“The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.” Zeph 3:17.
And why would He do that? Simply because you are His child!
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” Romans 8:1

It is not what you have done. It is what He has done for you!
Receive Him.
Rest in Him.
Rejoice in His love!
