Proverbs 27:23-24Know well the condition of your flocks, and give attention to your herds, 24 for riches do not last forever; and does a crown endure to all generations? 25  When the grass is gone and the new growth appears and the vegetation of the mountains is gathered, 26  the lambs will provide your clothing, and the goats the price of a field.
Anytime the word “investment” is mentioned we realize the necessity of making a good one, but many times struggle to embrace the length of time it takes to see the good results of it.  So the appeal of getting quick results and instant gratification begin to rule our day and age.  So money and power become the goal, giving us a pseudo purpose and security in life.
This passage points to chasing riches and power, at the expense of taking care of what will eventually bless you, if you take care of it!  Priorities is the underlining point of this passage, and how the right priority invested in yields better results.  But the key word is investing.  Investments take the kind of time that the world says we don’t have, yet society is suffering from our lack of priorities.  Families, communities, and society at large is suffering from our lack of prioritizing the right thing.
Real faith will always cause us as Christians to hear what God has to say about life, and prioritize around what He deems is right to invest in.  Faith makes us wait, and waiting involves discipline.  The way you begin to realize you are maturing naturally is when you prioritize and invest according to what is right…
The same in the natural is the same in the spiritual.  As we prioritize and do what God says, we will find ourselves maturing spiritually and tending to the priorities of Jesus, not our own.  Fight the good fight of faith, to get back to a sincere love for Christ that sees Him worth the investment.
In His Love, Ld
