Goo morning everyone,

Luke 1:8,13-Now while he was serving as priest before God when his division was on duty, But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zechariah, for your prayer has been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.

Whether we are a boss, employee, husband, wife, mother, father or friend, it is inevitable that there will be times in life where we "groan in our spirit" yet have to carry on with the everday duties of life.

But think I it is here, in the everyday responsibities God has given us that the Spirit hears our groanings just like Zechariah. God knew he really desired a son though there is no recording of him saying so.

There are things we pray for that we don’t think the Lord really hears, but the Spirit intercedes for us when we don’t know how to pray or continue praying for it! This is a groaning that we can’t explain but feel every so often, that often expresses our desperate need for God to answer such "prayers".

I believe this is what Zechariah felt about not having a child. That it was something he could live without, but it made him groan in his spirit. What we learn from Zechariah is that we don’t have to quit being focused and determined to do what God has called us to do, even if we are groaning while doing it.

If we continue to read the rest of the chapter, the Lord has an amazing way of showing up and answering, though we thought it was somehing that may never change! Keep hope in God, He knows our groanings and wants to be our peace and exceedingly great reward!

In His Love, Ld
