Genesis 33:10-Jacob said, “No, please, if I have found favor in your sight, then accept my present from my hand. For I have seen your face, which is like seeing the face of God, and you have accepted me.

There is a joy of reconciliation wih a person that you know has been orcehstrated by God. Sometimes fallouts with close family and friends that can now seem very distant and cold are due to a heart that is prideful, but that doesn’t mean the love isn’t there!

Like this fallout between Esau and Jacob pride easily could’ve won out and no reconciliation would have happened. Not because the two deep down didn’t love each other, but would have had to allow the dominate emotion to be pride and not love. The Bible says "love is not proud", so any "fallout" that remains that way is rooted in pride. One or both people refuse to let the love of Christ be the common denominator to the relationship.

This is why humility to confess your sin and come to the place of reconciling is like seeing God! Like Jesus and Jacob we have given ourselves freely with humiliation first to a receiving and accepting individual who loves us back! That is the essence of the gospel, that an all-loving God with all humiliation has come from heaven to die innocently for a bunch of "pridefully cold people" that we be reconciled back to Him! So is pride killing your relationships with family, friends, and co-workers, that you won’t humble yourself to possibly win them back? Humility in Christ always removes conditions at to why we won’t love like Jesus loves us!

In His Love, Ld
