Many of our church families have recently moved into new homes. I’m so very happy for them as I sense their excitement over their new place! It reminded me of how happy Janet and I were when we first moved into our current house 8 years ago. We are still very thankful for our home and never want to take it for granted that God has bestowed this blessing on us.

However, as anything else, it will wear off – literally. We see so many things that need to be fixed and wish were different about our house! But praise be to God that this is not our permanent home!

“In my Father’s house are many rooms… I am going there to prepare a place for you.” John 14:2

It is so hard not to focus on the physical because we’ve been trained to do so since birth. But since we are born-again of the Spirit, we must train ourselves to see the spiritual beyond the physical. Although we should rejoice and be thankful over earthly blessings, we have to go further and see that ultimately our home is being one with Jesus and one with one another in heaven.

Blessings,
