Good morning everyone,

Psalm 115:3-Our God is in the heavens; he does all that he pleases.

Have you ever tried to have a method as to how God will work in your life, and been severely disappointed He didn’t regard your method of thinking at all? I think that happens to all of us at some point where we think so "basic" about God, "that if I do this, then that will/won’t happen", right?

But one of the greatest attributes that separates God from everything else is that He is free! That you cannot systematize life, no matter how healthy you eat or how much you refrained from "harmful things" you cannot definitely say that things will work out. Sure you should do all those things, but physical health still can go wrong, because in spite of how much we think we control, we’re not in complete control.

The tragedy of Christianity is that people try and box God into a system of either rules, behaviors, and even scriptures to try and control an outcome. But this mentality robs us of a real relationship with Christ in that He is free, and the only security we have in life is that we know Him to be perfectly good, in spite of allowing perfectly bad situations to happen us. I believe this is when God shows off His freedom to do as He pleases as God. But it also reveals and test whether we are faithful and love Him for who He is, and not living offended at this freedom to do as He pleases in our lives.
