Heaven is only for those who said, “Thy will be done.”
Hell is only for those who said, “my will be done.”
How often do we insist on our own will being done?
How many Americans will be in heaven? (“I did it MY way”)
Ps. 139:23, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
In other words, “I want Your way, God, not mine.”
Once we have said and meant, “Thy will be done,” we can relax and be at peace with God and ourselves.
– Regarding your job situation? “Thy will be done.”
– Regarding the future spouse? “Thy will be done.”
– Regarding your health? “Thy will be done.”
– Regarding your children’s future? “Thy will be done.”
This doesn’t mean we sit on our hands and be lazy. God often uses us to bring about His will. But if things don’t pan out the way we expect after much effort and prayer, then we can have peace and joy when we submit to God’s will, knowing that His will is always superior to ours…
Let Thy will be done!
