Sorry for the lateness of this devotional. I got to spend time with my girls today unexpectedly =)

Ps. 136:1, “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever.”

That second sentence, “His love endures forever,” is repeated 25 times in this chapter!

It’s pretty obvious that the psalmist thought that God’s love endures forever. But why that particular phrase?

– “His love”: Not his rule, not his righteousness, not his judgment, etc. But His love! When you think of God, do you think of love?

– “Endures”: His love has to endure. Meaning that we are not easy to love! We make the same mistake over and over. And each generation repeats the mistakes of the previous generation. Yet, His love endures, perseveres, forgives…

– “Forever”: That’s a long time! Ever feel like God will finally get sick of our sins and say, “enough!” Not as long as we will come to Him in repentance and humility of heart. He will ALWAYS forgive FOREVER!

This means everything God does is out of love! Everything!!! Even those who go to hell do so because God loves them… How so? I don’t know, but I do know that God’s love endures forever even for those who reject Him forever. So, how much more for those who accept Him and love Him? That’s you and me.

God’s love endures forever!

Amen!
