Most of us wouldn’t think of weight gain as a good thing.

But when it comes to God’s presence in our lives, it is a good thing. How do I mean?

Ps. 57, “Be exalted, O God, above the heaven; let your glory be over all the earth.”

This is the purpose for which every human being is created – to glorify God.

But what does that mean? It’s a church word we don’t use very much – glorify.

Glory means weight. Something heavy.

So “let your glory be over all the earth” can be translated “Let God have more weight than anything else.”

If you put a huge boulder in the middle of the a tiny creek, the water would run around the boulder because the boulder has more weight than water. In other words, the weight of the boulder is rerouting the path of the water.

If God is to be glorified (weight gain) in our lives, we would plan our lives around His purpose and His ways.

Let God pull His weight on every decision we make today!
