I want to introduce you to one of the most powerful words in all of the Bible.

Once you understand the implication of that word, you will see how much hope it gives us and how it has the power to change our outlook on life.

Yet, the word is not “heaven,” “paradise,” “rest,” or anything like that.

The word is “but.”

That’s right. “But.”

Ps. 31:14, “BUT I trust in you, O Lord; I say, “You are my god.””

Can you guess what the psalmist was saying before the word “but?” Events and circumstances that made him worry, insecure, and scared, of course!

“But,” we have a God that loves us and can be trusted.

Practice saying it to yourself throughout the day. Does your heart condemn you?

“You are a nobody! Look at where you are compare to others around you!” – Yes, but I am worth the life of the Son of God!

“You can’t do anything right! Why live?” – True, BUT what Jesus has done has been put on me!

“You’ve wasted so much of your life!” – Regretfully, BUT I’ll not be judged by how long I’ve been faithful, but that I know Him.

“How could you fall into that sin over and over and over again?” – I know, BUT Jesus’ blood covers all my sins including the ones I’ll commit!

When your heart condemns you, fight back with the word, “but!”

Have a great weekend!
