Do you feel miserable? Do you wish for a better circumstance or a better life? Do you want to be happy again?

There are two ways to get out misery:
1. Wait until the circumstances change. (Then again, it might turn for the worse. Just when you thought it couldn’t get worse…)
2. Change our perspective on what we think we deserve.

Aren’t most of our miseries coming from what we deep down believe we deserve?

“I deserve a better treatment!”
“I deserve respect!”
“I deserve a break!”
“I paid my dues!”

But we are not getting what we believe we deserve. And therefore, we feel miserable. So, how to get out of misery?

What if we accepted what the Bible says we are?

Ps 30:3, “O LORD, you brought me up from the grave; you spared me from going down into the pit.”

It says we were dead! Not dying or almost dead. But dead! (Col. 2:13 also says we were dead in our sins)

Now, how valuable is a dead body? Would you value a dead and decaying body more than a dog? Or a raccoon? Or a squirrel? Or a worm?

If someone told you you have to take home with you a dead body or a can of worms, which would you take?

In other words, we were worth less than earth worms! Why? Because we were dead! We were one with dirt! We were what worms fed on to make them valuable!

If we truly believe what the Bible says about us, we will instantly be transported out of misery because whatever we are in now is better than being worm food!

But so much more than that, God not only breathed life into us, but He made us His sons and daughters! He intends to give us everything that belongs to His Son, Jesus! Think on that until your mood changes…

Don’t wait for the circumstances to change. Change your disposition toward God and yourself.

Love,

PH
