Good morning everyone,

1 John 1:8-If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

It is natural for any of us to know that we are dealing with personal sins and don’t want anyone to know. Early on, even in childhood we realize the unwritten rules of acceptance within the culture or sub-culture we grew up in. So to not be rejected we kept silent and lived on the best we could.

Many of the sinful acts we see and do are what a psychologist may say is "an outworking of what is internal". That what is going on internally has produced such pressure that it must soon be acted out. This is why many times people "break" because they have been trying to live up to some expectation, while ignoring their own personal issues and sins. From this some people break at early ages, some middle, some late, but eventually people break from the "pressure".

Now think about sin in our own lives. The denial of any thing that the Lord is convicting us of is to deny the truth. This is the literal definition of denial. What makes us give up on confronting our own issues is that we see no way out from them, "so we must do our best to hide it". But if Christ the Truth is in us, we will confront and confess our sins, so we don’t live in denial and unbelief that Christ has not given us the Holy Spirit to overcome these issues.

In His Love, Ld
