Genesis 8:14-16-In the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth had dried out. 15 Then God said to Noah, 16 “Go out from the ark, you and your wife, and your sons and your sons’ wives with you.

One of the most important questions Christians desire to have answered is what is God’s purpose for my life?  Usually that question focuses on a certain “thing” we are to do for His glory which is important.  But can be very short-sighted regarding what God really wants, which is our entire life. (Colossians 3:3-4)
So if our mindset is to only seek God, when I have an important decision to make that’s not a relationship.  When biblically, God wants us to find our entire life in Him, and then He reveals what we are directed to do, which comes from living in His presence as a worshiper…(Acts 7:1-3)
The account of Noah’s ark is very helpful to get “a picture” of what it looks like to live in the presence of God, so that we can hear the voice of God to fulfill our purpose.  Much like the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, we can look at the earth as “an ark”, that we too can live in His presence to be instructed to do what He requires of us…
In essence, God separated Noah and His family from everyone for communion with Him, to further God’s purpose of repopulating the earth.  But Noah waited a while to hear the voice of God that would direct him out of the ark, for the “next season” of his purpose.  But Noah heard it because he lived in God’s presence…(John 10:27)
All throughout the Bible, God called people to multiple different purposes for their life.  If we recall anyone He “called out” for His purpose, the Lord became the center of their existence.  That living in His presence was what enabled them to hear His voice for direction.  So if you are struggling to hear the voice of God, ask whether you are seeking His presence or seeking what you want?  Because God speaks according to His purpose to direct and redirect us in it. (Galatians 3:2-6)
