God delights to forgive you of your sins!

Have you thought of it that way? I knew God forgives sins but I used to think He did it begrudgingly while rolling His eyes. “That again? How many times do I have to forgive you of that same sin? But my Son did die for you, so I guess I have to forgive you… “

Perhaps I had that picture in mind because that’s how most human authorities are. From my teachers to bosses. If I make a mistake, often I don’t want to admit it because I fear how they would react. In most cases, it’s a sigh, a frown, or a displeasure that I detect as they exonerate me for what I’ve done.

Now picture the father with the prodigal son. Before the son even spoke a word, the father ran out to him, hugged and kissed him all over! How DELIGHTED he was to see him back!

To God, our asking for forgiveness is His opportunity to show how gracious and glorious He is! He delights to forgive sinners!

God is eagerly waiting for you to come to Him. He is eager to forgive and to receive you. Would you come to Him confessing your shortcomings and unfaithfulness?

Then, feel His pleasure and peace that will course through you.
