I hate what this day represents. And at least on the surface, it feels like evil has won out. Rather than celebrating All Saints’ Day on November 1, we are celebrating Halloween. Rather than celebrating the birth of Jesus on Christmas Day, we are celebrating a big fat man with his reindeers. Rather than celebrating the resurrection of Jesus on the Resurrection Sunday, we are celebrating a dumb bunny!

We are on a losing streak! It seems that evil has gotten to the good and turning everything good and holy into something devilish and profane. Where is God? Is He going to show up?

But this is the way God always worked. The hour before dawn is always the darkest. During Esther’s era, it came down to one young woman who risked her life to save her nation. The greatest king of Israel, David, came from the womb of a woman whose grandmother had no hope of ever having a child in Ruth. When Jesus was killed, it seemed that the revolution was finally over, but it was the start of the greatest revolution the world has ever known – the rise of Christianity.

The war has been won already. The devil is reeling from the death blow to the head. Christ the mighty Conqueror will come back, and He will make every wrong right and finally kill death itself!

It’s just a matter of time. Stay faithful and watchful. The battle is the fiercest right before the liberation.

Come soon, Lord Jesus!
