Proverbs 11:25-Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.

In this day and age of relationships, I wonder how many Christian’s still see themselves as an “asset” to serve in relationships, as opposed to being someone who is waiting to be served?  Whenever you complement or bring value to a situation, you make yourself indispensable.  But whenever you stop “bringing”, and instead wait to be served, you become a liability or a weight.
In order to complement any situation, there must be an understanding, and equal respect towards what best blesses the situation.  So that no one sees themselves as too good to serve in a way that would better the relationship…
However, our faith and motivation to serve shouldn’t rest on people’s response to our service, but knowing that God honors what we sow in service.  To rest our service on circumstances, or faith in people giving back what we gave, results in disappointment.  Which makes it very difficult to be excited over and over again, to serve in such unstable conditions.
That is why God desires us to know from His Word, that no service we do in His name is in vain.  Though we may not always receive from the situation or the people we desire, we will receive from God if we serve for His sake.  This helps us to root our zeal in God’s faithfulness to reward our service, so we don’t lose it when we don’t see it elsewhere…
