If the devil were to have an upper hand in my life, it wouldn’t be through adultery, embezzlement, or other moral failures. It would be through disrupting my time with Jesus daily.

The most important thing that I have to remember (and you also), is to stay close to Jesus everyday. A gross sin does not happen overnight. It happens slowly over a long time as we prefer the world over Jesus.

First, it happens as we neglect our time alone with God. Then, we start neglecting worshipping with other believers. Then, we start making good things into ultimate things – such as family, friends, and hobbies. Then, when our moral compass is all out of whack, we commit the once unthinkable. But how did it start? By forgetting to stay close to Jesus daily…

“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5

It’s the small, everyday thing that matters. Be faithful in little.
