Betrayal is hard to deal with even for God. Jesus knew it was coming, but He still was very much troubled by it when Judas Iscariot betrayed Him.

“After saying these things, Jesus was troubled in his spirit, and testified, “Truly, truly I say to you, one of you will betray me.”” John 13:21

Understandably, it is hurtful to be betrayed by the one whom you trusted and loved. Judas was one of the twelve. He has walked, talked, and ate with Jesus daily for three years. He has earned the trust of not only Jesus but also other disciples, for he was in charge of money. It must’ve felt like His heart was ripped out of its place when Judas turned against Him. He knew the pain of not being understood, rejected, and abandoned.

In the end, there is no one who will stay with you to the end. Even your family members will go their own way. No one can walk the road you are walking but you. No one but God, that is. He is the only One who will stay with you to the end. He will not leave you even when you are moving from deathbed to life-after. He will be there each step of the way. “I will never leave you nor forsake you!” Heb. 13:5

Sometimes, that’s all I need to know. He doesn’t have to do anything. No miracles. No guidance. Just be there with me so that I’m not alone. And He is, because He promised. God never breaks HIs promise.
