Galatians 3:28-There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus

In a world of distinctions and marketing for us to find our identity in what we look like, the things we have, and even who we vote for!  I wonder how many of us as Christians believe that true freedom comes from realizing none of that matters on a deep and personal level?

The “smoke screen” of the world seems to be that if we engage in enough distractions and things to focus on, we can forget how tormenting life can be internally.  Just focus on achieving everything you ever wanted!  The message seems to constantly deal with looking for things outwardly in order to find your worth and contentment.  Even if that is a noble thing like family, that is still an “outward institution” to deal with a spiritual issue.  But we can’t blame the world, that’s all they can provide…

But as Christians whenever we look to establish our worth through our “works” in life, we are still trying to fit an “outward idea” into a spiritual void.  That worth must come from what God originated for His creation to embrace.  That His Spirit gave us “the breath of life”, and from there we found our true worth, identity, and image.

True freedom comes when we stop creating distinctions to find value and worthnor measure our worth with the distinctions of others.  We then can appreciate how God made others, and not place measures of worth and value on people by their “works”. Like the world we become self-righteous, and blind to our worth needing to come through Christ, and not what we can do ourselves.

In His Love, LD
